Webasto was founded in 1901 by Mr. Wilhelm Baier.

Webasto's first specialized in production of goods in the wire and ironware industry. This is one of the first main products that was released by Mr. Baier's new company. Others included differenet bicycle parts and household goods.
In 1907, the company relocated to Stockdorf. The present day headquarters is still based in this little town which is located just outside of Munich.

Entering the Automotive Industry
From 1932, Webasto entered the Automotive Industry by designing and manufacturing folding roofs for tour busses and passenger cars.
